Estimation of tumor dose in conformation radiotherapy.

چکیده
Dosage estimation for conformation radiotherapy applied to cervical cancer was discussed. Field size and shape in conformation therapy was freely change able according to the shape and size of tumor. When the same size and shape of the field for therapy by Co 60 gamma ray was applied to each case, tissue-air ratio TAR was given by an equation, T=-0.00326d+1.035, where T is TAR and d an average depth. The concept of tissue-air ratio could not be applied to dose calculation in moving field radiotherapy by 6MV x-rays, because the quality of x-rays emitted from a linear accelerator is rather different from that of ƒÁ-rays of the telecobalt unit. Therefore, the tissue-reference output ratio was defined instead of tissue-air ratio in the form of:

Estimation of the risk for the second cancers induction in healthy tissues during the radiation therapy of liver’s tumor
The aim of this study was to estimate the delivered doses to tissues and organs around the liver tumor during radiotherapy and to determine organs with a high probability of secondary induction cancers. This study was carried out using Monte Carlo method. The used Phantom, the ORNL phantom is for an adult female. The volume of the tumor is as much as 30% of the liver tissue. In the initial step...

Background: The goals of the present research were to investigate the rectal dose during four chosen techniques of cervical cancer radiotherapy and to examine how accurately the treatment planning represents dose measurements, and it’s practicality for routine use as well as, to determine the homogeneity of dose in tumor volume. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out using a Nepton 10...
متن کاملDeveloping the Adult Male ICRP Phantom and Evaluation the Absorbed Dose Received By Critical Organs in Head and Neck Region during the Radiotherapy of Eye Cancer
Introduction Accurate estimation of the absorbed dose in radiosensitive organs, located away from the target volume during radiotherapy, is one of the main reasons for the development of reference phantoms. The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) reference phantoms can provide a more realistic view of the human anatomy in comparison with the previously used mathematical p...
متن کاملInvestigation of the dose enhancement effect of spherical bismuth oxide nanoparticles in external beam radiotherapy
Introduction: External radiotherapy is the most common method of radiotherapy which the most important problem associated with is that there is no difference between healthy and tumor tissues in dose absorption. One way to differentiate the dose sensitivity is to use metal-based nanoparticles. Bismuth oxide nanoparticles are good candidates for cancer radiotherapy. In this study, we investigate...
